Clinical Psychologist Cansu Dikmen graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Psychology in 2013. She completed Okan University Clinical Psychology Master’s Program, which she started in the same year, in the trauma sub-module focusing on psychosocial interventions. During her graduate education, she studied cognitive and behavioral therapies with a perspective in which the systemic therapy approach is integrated as a supportive orientation.

In 2014-2015, following the Soma mine disaster, she took part in field studies as a center manager and psychologist at the Soma Psychosocial Support Center, which was established through the solidarity network formed by many non-governmental/professional organizations. She continued her work in the field of psychosocial support and clinical practice in management and psychologist positions in different local and international non-governmental organizations that carry out activities for individuals and groups who have been subjected to discrimination and ill-treatment and provided support to some programs that work on periodic support and empathy fatigue. She worked as a psychologist and project coordinator at MAYA Foundation between 2016-2018 and as a psychologist at Doctors Without Borders between 2018-2021.

Cansu Dikmen completed the Bilgi University International Trauma Studies Certificate Program in 2013. She received training on Experiential Play Therapy from Nilüfer Devecigil in 2015, Schema Therapy from Alp Karaosmanoğlu in 2016, Narrative Therapy from Elizabeth Wieling in 2018, and Clinical Practices of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies from Ebru Şalcıoğlu in 2021. She is currently continuing her education in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy given by Steven C. Hayes.

In her clinical work, she has adopted a transdiagnostic approach that focuses on the common factors that maintain the agendas the individual has difficulty with. Psychological flexibility and adaptation, emotion expression, and regulation studies are among the areas of interest that affect her clinical orientation; process-oriented behavioral therapies and systems approach.
